Controlled Capacitance
Features & Benefits
  • AEC-Q200 Qualified
  • Targeted EMI/RFI Filtering
  • Improve overall system EMC performance
Typical Applications
  • EMI TVS Module Control
  • High Speed ASICS
  • Mixed Signal Environment
  • Sensors and more

KYOCERA AVX Controlled Capacitance Varistors are developed for use in mixed signal environment for targeted EMI/RFI filtering and bi-directional transient suppression. Parts are AEC-Q200 qualified for use in automotive applications and are also suitable for use in general purpose applications.
The Controlled Cap MLV has three purposes: 1) reduce emissions from a high speed ASIC, 2) prevent induced E fields from conducting into the IC, and 3) clamp transient voltages.
By controlling capacitance of the MLV, the center frequency and 20db range for filtering purposes can be targeted. Controlled capacitance MLV can greatly improve overall system EMC performance and reduce system size.

Available in 0603 case size, working voltages 9 – 30Vdc and capacitances 33 – 1000pF. Operating temperature range is –55°C to +125°C with no derating. Parts offer excellent lead free solderability thanks to Ni Barrier/100% Sn termination however PdAg termination for hybrid assembly is also available upon request.
