KYOCERA AVX Radial Varistors are designed for durability in harsh environments or applications where leaded component is preferred. These components, based on reliable multilayer varistor technology, provide bi-directional overvoltage protection and EMI filtering in radial leaded configuration and also offer excellent resistance against harsh environment, vibrations and shocks. This allows designers to combine the circuit protection and EMI/RFI attenuation function into a single highly reliable device.
Parts are AEC-Q200 qualified for use in automotive applications and are also suitable for use in general purpose applications. Available in epoxy coated, radial package in working voltages 18 to 48Vdc, energy up to 1.6J and peak current up to 500A. Operating temperature range is –55°C to +125°C. Parts are available with Ni/Sn leads, however KYOCERA AVX can also offer Ni free wires upon request.
