Job Description:
Kyocera Ventures, a newly established Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) firm, is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Senior VC Associate to join our pioneering team. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a startup CVC that is poised to invest in a broad portfolio of tech ventures across the US, Europe, and Israel markets. Kyocera Ventures is dedicated to fostering innovation and driving growth in the technology sector. As our first hire, you will play a crucial role in shaping our investment strategy and building relationships with top engineers, executives, venture capitalists, and startups. Kyocera Ventures is set up like a traditional venture fund with aligned economics incentives (carried interest)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate proprietary investment deal flow by conducting thematic sector coverage and networking with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry practitioners.
  • Lead market and financial due diligence processes, preparing internal investment presentations and recommendation decks for presentation to the investment committee.
  • Identify emerging trends and potential thematic areas for investments, leveraging your analytical skills and market insights.
  • Oversee deal flow activity and manage a database of company information, ensuring timely and thorough analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Participate in board meetings and assist in strategy formation and execution for portfolio companies, contributing to their growth and success.
Job Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in investment banking, technology companies, or venture capital/private equity, with a strong track record of achievement.  Ideally, some relevant early stage deal execution.
  • Graduated from a top college/university (MBA is highly desirable).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to distill key insights from financial models and large datasets.
  • Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of experimentation and self-directed learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • A natural networker with an insatiable appetite for new, innovative ideas and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and industry professionals.
  • Personal integrity, ability to work independently in an unstructured environment, and effective teamwork skills.
